reasons not to have cats

they get attacked by a dog (tess) and you (me) have to take them to the after-hours vets clinic where a consultation costs more than if you take a human to the after-hours medical centre

they chase mice behind bookcases (gump) where said mouse starts decomposing and smelling and you (me) have to remove all the books and shift the bookcase and pick the decomposing mouse up by the tail and throw it outside

i wouldn't trade either of them for anything!

What are the signs that you're just not happy at work?

A desk strewn with paper, projects done at the very last moment with little enthusiasm, sleepless nights, increasingly short temper to those you deal with, no real desire to get to work in the morning ..... ????

What'cha think Mike? Answer yes to any of the above?

I dunno what it is. Sure I've been away, but largely I've been inspired by the trip, buoyed by seeing the good work volunteers are doing for the sport. But I get back, and BAM - the old feelings of being overwhelmed and unable to find a way up hit me.

I keep thinking I need a week of uninterrupted time to catch up on everything, but I know that's just an excuse. And I get further behind and feel more helpless.

The talk last entry of a "win - win" situation was bravado I think.

Arghhhh, all this is like cracked record.

I just hadda talk with Deb. Something needs to give. I can't keep on like this.
