Split Opinion
Joshua came to where I was sitting at the computer.
"Mum" he says.
"Yes, Joshua?"
"Look at me!"
I look at him.
He points to one eye... "Mum, I like Dora the Explorer with this eye..."
"...but I don't like Dora the Explorer with the other eye" he says, pointing to the other one.
And then he turns around on one heel and walks out, leaving me no wiser than when he had walked in.
What could that possibly possibly mean?

You know, I've thought about this for a couple of days and I, too, am baffled. But - wouldn't it be wonderful to have that child-like imagination (and fascination) again? :)
hey mark, i know! i'm still baffled! i tried to get him to explain what he meant later on, but couldn't get any sense out of him.
Have you checked both his eyes for vision problems? :-)
hey, you know... i did think of that, and he was tested recently at kindergarten... at this age they ask them to match images rather than read letters, and he passed all but the smallest images, which means he could indeed have an eyesight problem. so they've recommended that he be retested when he starts school.
Hmm... baffling, but, Ian may be onto something?
hey desiree, we'll see when he gets his eyes tested next... i hope his eyesight is okay. i had to wear glasses from a young age, and hated it!
