15 - Couple Space As I sit, wondering what to write, my hand rests up against my chin. I can smell my finger. It smells of Deb's cunt. That smell all its own, slightly acrid, erotic, etched in my memory. My finger has been there tonight. Tonight was the first night we've tried having sex since Matthew was born. It arose, no pun intended, as the best moments do - spontaneously. We were wondering what to do, after dinner on a Saturday night. Go to bed, watch tv, or, a usual Saturday night activity, cruise randomly on the Open Pages. And Deb said, "we could have sex". Libidos have, at best, been sporadic since Matthew. Deb's almost non-existent, outweighed by pain, tiredness and the constant need to be a mother. Mine fluttering sometimes, relieved by solitary late night emissions, but not blossoming. So tonight was a step back to being a couple; as opposed to a family. A difference is implied there. The two are not mutually exclusive, but need their own space, and we found a little space tonight.
